Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Story Brags at storybrags.com, operated by Hatrack Digital LLC, a Maine limited liability company (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using Story Brags, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use Story Brags. If you are under 18 or the age of legal majority where you live, you must have a parent or guardian’s permission, and they must review and agree to these Terms with you. If you are under 13, do not use the service or create an account.

Use an email address you control and keep your sign-in codes and email account secure. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Tell us if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not impersonate someone else or use another person’s account without permission.

2. How the service works

You can create and customize stories for free in your browser. An email-verified account is required to download or share a finished image. Optional Premium subscriptions cost $4.99 USD per month or $35.88 USD per year (equivalent to $2.99 per month, paid annually). The selected price and any applicable charges are shown at Stripe Checkout before you subscribe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the selected interval until canceled. Use “Manage billing” in your dashboard to manage or cancel your subscription; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Contact us below for billing or refund questions. Nothing in these Terms limits applicable statutory refund rights.

Drafts, background images, and editor preferences are stored on your device in your browser. Premium members can explicitly save stories to their account library for access on other devices. Clearing site data, changing browsers or devices, private browsing, or device problems can remove your work. Signing out does not clear your draft. You are responsible for saving copies you want to keep.

Saving to Photos or sharing to another app depends on your device, browser, permissions, and the receiving service. Story Brags does not automatically post to social networks and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Instagram or Meta.

3. Your content and our materials

You retain your rights in the text, photos, and other material you use in your stories. You must have the rights and permissions needed to use that material, including appropriate permission for other people’s images or private information. You decide what to save and share, and are responsible for those choices.

You authorize the processing needed to display, format, export, and, when requested, store your content or generate an AI wrap-up. This permission does not give us ownership of your stories or permission to publish them or use them in our marketing. The editor processes drafts locally; optional account storage and AI features process content through our service providers as explained in our Privacy Policy.

We and our licensors retain rights in the service’s software, branding, and design. Subject to these Terms, you may use the editor and save and share its output, including the branding included in that output. This does not grant permission to impersonate us or redistribute the service itself. Third-party fonts, software, and other materials remain subject to their applicable licenses.

AI wrap-ups may misinterpret accomplishments or calculate totals incorrectly. Review and edit them before sharing. Premium background artwork will become available as new designs are released; the interface identifies features that are still coming soon.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use Story Brags to violate the law or others’ rights, distribute unlawful or abusive material, impersonate or defraud others, or infringe intellectual property or privacy rights. Do not interfere with the service, distribute malicious code, attempt unauthorized access, or abuse sign-in emails and other infrastructure. Do not bypass security or rate limits. Nothing here limits rights that applicable law does not allow us to restrict.

5. Privacy and third-party services

Our Privacy Policy explains account information, browser storage, service providers, and your choices. Third-party websites and apps you choose to visit or share with operate under their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control their availability or how they handle your exported images.

6. Availability, changes, and ending use

We may maintain, update, change, or discontinue features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that a particular feature will remain available. Where reasonably practicable, we will give notice of changes that materially affect your account or access.

You may stop using the service at any time and request account deletion using the contact information below. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risks, legal requirements, or material violations of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to contact us. Deleting an account does not delete locally saved drafts or images you have exported.

7. Disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. We do not promise error-free operation, compatibility with every browser, or recovery of lost drafts. Story Brags is a creative tool, not professional advice or a recordkeeping service.

To the extent permitted by law, Hatrack Digital LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost data arising from use of the service. This exclusion does not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these Terms waives mandatory consumer protections or other nonwaivable rights.

8. Governing law and disputes

Maine law governs these Terms, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory law gives you other protections. Subject to any right to bring a claim in another forum under applicable law, disputes may be brought in the state or federal courts located in Maine with jurisdiction over the dispute. These Terms do not require arbitration or waive your right to participate in a class action.

You may contact us to try to resolve a concern informally. Doing so is not a condition of exercising any legal right.

9. Changes to these Terms

We will post revised Terms here with an updated effective date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice through the service or by email where appropriate, and request consent when required by law. Changes apply prospectively. If you do not agree to revised Terms, stop using the service.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Our failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
